From: Matthew Belk [Matthew.Belk@noaa.gov] Sent: Monday, May 03, 2004 5:10 AM To: Brian.Motta@noaa.gov Subject: Travel Voucher for Workshop 4 Brian, Here is my mini trip report: Three things I'll do: 1) Start setting up IFPS 16 now! 2) Advertise the NDFD toolbox page to the staff (completed) 3) Train staff on IFPS 16 formatter changes and new TCM tool Three things ER should know/do: 1) ISC Discrepancy tool (local) should exactly match the technique used by NDFD to compute consistency 2) Converting from IFPS 15 to IFPS 16 will take some training due to the formatter changes. Some offices not as lucky in having staff on site as well-versed in Python as others. Problems may arise in understanding the new formatter structure. 3) Priority should be placed on getting additional extended guidance (HPC or GFS ensemble mean)in a gridded form for operational use.
